„On June 11th, the International Day of Play, we celebrated a simple yet powerful truth: play fuels discovery.
At SPAR ICS, we believe that playful learning is an investment in the future. That’s why we’re proud to share that we’ve donated six LEGO® Serious Play® sets to our long-standing partner school, HTL Hallein.

These sets turn abstract ideas into tangible models, helping students explore technology, collaboration, and problem-solving with their own hands. But our commitment to playful education goes far beyond a single donation. At SPAR ICS, we also harness the power of LEGO® Serious Play® internally in various ways.

For instance, within our Talent Management program focused on agile methodologies, we use these versatile sets to visualize complex concepts such as designing a new store layout, illustrating agile principles, or mapping out intricate processes. It transforms abstract ideas into concrete, buildable models, fostering deeper understanding and creative problem-solving among our teams.

Together with the HTL Hallein community, we explore a variety of formats that spark curiosity, offer insights into emerging technologies, and build bridges between classroom learning and real-world applications. Our goal is to support and inspire the next generation as they develop the skills to thrive in a digital future.

Homo ludens – the playing human – reminds us that play is not a break from learning or work, but an essential part of both. By creating spaces where curiosity can grow, we hope to foster creativity, resilience, and a readiness to create retail future.

Thank you to everyone at HTL Hallein for building that future with us – brick by brick. Special thanks to DI. Christoph Költringer, Christoph Schönleitner and Johannes Russegger for the warm welcome and inspiring collaboration – and to our colleague Elisabeth Trnka for leading our educational partnerships with such passion and dedication!
